In a tweet on Saturday, Modi said: “Tomorrow June 5 is marked as #WorldEnvironmentDay. At 6 p.m., the worldwide LiFE movement will be launched. This movement aims to encourage practices that promote sustainable living and development that respects the environment.

Earlier, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted on World Environment Day, saying, “We have #OnlyOneEarth. Today and every day, celebrate, protect and help restore our planet.”

AICC Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said: “The terribly hot winds this year are an example of how climate change is affecting our lives. Farmers, fishermen suffered due to these hot winds and life was badly affected.
